Hon. Mawanda Maranga Predicts Peaceful Transition with Gen. Muhoozi as Next President

Bushenyi Uganda.  Hon. Mawanda Maranga, the NRM flag bearer for Igara East, has sparked significant interest in the political landscape by stating that Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba is poised to be the next president, citing the potential for a peaceful transition. Speaking on Hunter Radio, Mawanda expressed his gratitude to his constituents for re-electing him as their NRM flag bearer with an impressive 10,669 votes, beating his closest rival, Herbert Bwirizayo, who garnered 6,658 votes. The difference between the two was notable, with Mawanda leading by 4,011 votes.


Other contestants in the NRM primaries included Rukundo Benon, who secured 4,102 votes, Kirenzi Clayford with 3,789 votes, Atwine Gracias with 1,900 votes, and Gakyalo Fabiano with 401 votes. Mawanda's decisive win solidifies his position as the NRM flag bearer for Igara East, and he emphasized the importance of fulfilling the NRM manifesto and delivering services to the people.


As the Director of Mobilization at the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Mawanda's influence extends beyond his constituency. His comments on Gen. Muhoozi's potential presidency have generated considerable in political circles, with many awaiting the future political landscape. The prediction of a peaceful transition under Gen. Muhoozi's leadership has been met with both interest and speculation.


In addition to his comments on the presidency, Mawanda revealed his intention to contest for the position of NRM Vice Chairperson for Western Uganda on the CEC. This move underscores his commitment to party leadership and his desire to contribute to the party's growth and success in the region.


As the political landscape continues to evolve, Mawanda's statements and actions will likely remain under close scrutiny. His re-election as NRM flag bearer for Igara East, his role in PLU, and his aspirations for higher party roles position him as a notable figure in Ugandan politics.
