The President of the Uganda Law Society, Anthony Asiimwe, has revealed that Kenyan lawyer and politician Martha Karua was denied entry into Uganda despite initially being cleared by immigration officials at Entebbe International Airport.
According to Asiimwe, Karua arrived in Uganda together with the President of the Law Society of Kenya, Charles Kanjama, as part of a delegation expressing solidarity with Ugandan lawyers and monitoring developments in the country's justice system.
Asiimwe said he personally received the two lawyers at the airport.
He explained that Karua was first cleared by immigration officials before being intercepted while proceeding through the airport and informed that she would not be allowed to enter Uganda.
