Kampala Metropolitan South Police Conducts a joint Operation ,Arrests over 500 Suspects.

KAMPALA - UGANDA: Police in the Kampala Metropolitan South region conducted a joint targeted operation in the Nateete policing area and surrounding areas of Nsangi, Katwe, and Kajjansi. The exercise involved officers from the Nateete, Katwe, and Kajjansi policing divisions.


The operation targeted identified crime hotspots following a rise in reported cases of robbery, motorcycle theft, mobile phone theft, burglary, and related offences. Over 500 suspects were arrested during the exercise.


Several exhibits were recovered, including suspected opium,panga, suspected miraa amongst other exhibits.


The suspects have been charged with possession of narcotic drugs, public nuisance, and being in possession of offensive weapons in public without lawful authority.


All suspects remain in police custody pending screening and subsequent court proceedings.
