JINJA - UGANDA: On 25 June 2026 at about 12:00 noon, officers from Banda Police Post arrested a suspect in connection with a viral video circulating on social media, including on X, in which the individual appeared to make references to criminal activities allegedly taking place along Jinja Road and within Banda.

The suspect was identified as Wafula Solomon, a 27-year-old male adult and resident of Banda Zone III, Banda Parish, Nakawa Division, Kampala District.

Police are investigating the circumstances under which the video was made and whether the suspect or any of the individuals mentioned therein have been involved in criminal acts committed along Jinja Road and its surrounding areas.

Police would like to caution members of the public against producing, sharing, or circulating content that glorifies, promotes, or appears to endorse criminal activity. Such conduct is not tolerated and may undermine ongoing efforts to combat crime and maintain public order.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the identities and criminal involvement of the persons referenced in the video.

Appropriate action will be taken against anyone found to have participated in criminal activities.
