The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has reminded schools, parents, and all stakeholders that the normal registration period for 2026 examination candidates ends at midnight on Tuesday, June 30, 2026.
UNEB emphasized that candidates are only considered fully registered after the registration invoice has been fully paid.
The fees for normal registration are Shs34,000 for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Shs164,000 for the Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE), and Shs186,000 for the Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE).
According to UNEB, a total of 1,584,519 candidates have so far been registered across the three examination levels. Of these, 910,774 (57.4%) are PLE candidates, 479,681 (30.2%) are UCE candidates, and 194,064 (12.2%) are UACE candidates.
The Board said late registration will run from July 1 to July 31, 2026, after which no further registration will be accepted.
Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, the Principal Public Relations Officer, urged all schools to ensure that every eligible learner is registered in time so that no candidate is left out.
