KAMPALA — UGANDA: The Uganda Electoral Commission has released the official roadmap for the upcoming 2026 Local Council II (LC II) Parish and Ward elections, mapping out a swift 13-day timeline from voter registration to polling day.

The electoral process kicks off on July 29, 2026, with the compilation of the official Parish and Ward voters' registers. Immediately following compilation, the Commission will display the registers for public scrutiny on July 30 and July 31, 2026, allowing citizens to verify their registration status and resolve any discrepancies.

Aspiring leaders will have a single day to formalize their intentions, with the nomination of candidates for the Parish/Ward Chairperson positions scheduled for August 3, 2026.

Successfully nominated candidates will then head into a fast-paced campaign period spanning six days, running from August 4 to August 9, 2026. The entire process will culminate on August 10, 2026, when voters across the country head to the polls to elect their new LC II representatives.
