KAMPALA - UGANDA: The legitimate President of the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC), Hon. Adim Denis Enap, on Wednesday paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) Chairman, where he held discussions with Hon. Michael Mawanda on behalf of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba.

During the meeting, Adim Enap pledged to build a strong working relationship between UPC and PLU, saying both parties share common goals of fighting corruption, promoting patriotism, and advancing Uganda’s socio-economic transformation

“We are here to forge a partnership that puts Uganda first. UPC and PLU believe in unity, service, and development for all Ugandans,” Adim Enap told journalists after the meeting.

Addressing the media, Adim Enap reiterated that he is the legitimate President of UPC. He accused Jimmy Akena of holding the office illegitimately and relying on propaganda.

“UPC belongs to the people. We cannot allow individuals to hijack the party for personal interests,” he said.

Speaking on behalf of Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, PLU National Coordinator Hon. Michael Mawandawelcomed the partnership and pledged that PLU would work hand in hand with UPC as a friendly partner.

“PLU is a new force dedicated to serving the interests of Ugandans, strengthening national unity, and promoting the national interest above individual interests. We are ready to walk together with UPC in advancing the country’s development,” Hon. Mawanda said.

He added that Gen. MK’s vision focuses on uniting Ugandans across political and regional lines for prosperity.

The engagement signals growing political alignment between UPC and PLU ahead of the 2026 general elections.
