Protesters from the People's Front  for  Freedom (PFF) in Bushenyi District have taken a bold stance, marching through the streets to demand the immediate release of Dr. Kizza Besigye, a prominent Ugandan opposition leader. The demonstrations come amidst allegations of Besigye's illegal detention, which has sparked widespread concern about his access to specialized medical care.

Guma Gumisiriza, chairman of the PFF Bushenyi district, has been vocal about the organization's support for Besigye and its commitment to fighting for democracy and human rights in Uganda. The protesters are calling for Besigye's release, as well as that of other detained political figures, to ensure they receive the medical attention they need.

Besigye's detention has been a contentious issue, with reports suggesting he was arrested in Nairobi and transferred to Uganda, where he is being held in a military detention facility  .His wife, Winnie Byanyima, has expressed outrage over the situation, questioning why her husband, a retired soldier and civilian leader, is being held in a military jail .

The protests in Bushenyi District are a testament to the growing concern about Besigye's detention and the need for his release to access medical care. As the situation continues to unfold, the PFF and other opposition groups are likely to maintain pressure on the government to address their demands.
