Hon. Mawanda Michael has officially thrown his hat into the ring, announcing his candidacy for the position of NRM Vice Chairman for Western Uganda. 

Speaking to the media at his office in Nguuru, Kampala, Hon. Mawanda expressed his commitment to promoting the NRM's agenda and working towards the development of Western Uganda.

As a seasoned politician and current Member of Parliament for Igara East, Bushenyi District, and doubles Director Mobalisation PLU Hon. Mawanda brings a wealth of experience to the table. His decision to vie for the NRM Vice Chairmanship is seen as a strategic move to consolidate his influence within the party and expand his reach in Western Uganda.

Hon. Mawanda's announcement comes at a time when the NRM is gearing up for its internal elections. The party's leadership has been emphasizing the need for effective representation and service delivery at the grassroots level. He said "

 As a candidate for the NRM Vice Chairmanship, Hon. Mawanda noted that is to  demonstrate his ability to mobilize support and drive development in Western Uganda.

The incumbent NRM Vice Chairman for Western Uganda Hon Cris Baryomunsi , but Hon. Mawanda's entry into the race is likely to shake up the political landscape in the region. With his experience and influence, Hon. Mawanda is definitely a candidate to watch in the upcoming NRM internal elections.
