Kazo District Declared Free of Foot and Mouth Disease

KAZO - UGANDA. In a significant achievement, Kazo District Chairman, Rev. Samuel Mugisha Katugunda, announced on Wednesday morning that the district is now free from Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD). This milestone was shared during a district council meeting, where Rev. Mugisha expressed his gratitude for the collective efforts that led to this success.
Rev. Mugisha's leadership has been instrumental in combating FMD in Kazo District. Previously, he urged cattle dealers to take precautions, such as spraying trucks during loading and offloading of cattle, to prevent the spread of the disease .
The district's measures to contain FMD, including quarantine restrictions, have been carefully balanced to ensure both disease control and economic considerations .
