Chaos Erupts in Tororo District Council Over Corruption Allegations

By Felix Biryomumaisho

TORORO - UGANDA  . A heated debate erupted in the Tororo District Council as councillors tabled a motion demanding the transfer of Deputy Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Albert Amula, and Regional Police Commander, Fred Ahimbisibwe. The councillors accuse the duo of failing to combat corruption in the district .

The motion has sparked intense discussion among council members, with some calling for immediate action against Amula and Ahimbisibwe. The councillors argue that the pair has not done enough to address corruption, which has hindered development in the district.

Amula has previously spoken out against corruption, cautioning those involved in implementing the Parish Development Model (PDM) against extortion . However, the councillors' motion suggests that his efforts have been insufficient.

The situation remains tense, with no clear resolution in sight. The council's decision will be closely watched, as it may have significant implications for the district's governance and development.
