BUSHENYI - UGANDA: In a gesture of goodwill and community spirit, Hon. Mawanda, the Igara East County legislator, has donated food items to the Muslim community in his constituency. The donation, which took place today at Rwentuha Mosque in Rwentuha Town Council, Bushenyi District, is a timely gesture as the community prepares to celebrate Eid Al Fitr tomorrow, Sunday, March 30, 2025.
Joshua Asingwire, Hon. Mawanda's political assistant, revealed that this is not the first time the legislator has shown his support for the Muslim community. "He has been doing this every year, both at the start and end of Ramadan," Asingwire said.
Iman Mudasir Mandela Rukaga, who spoke on behalf of the Muslim community, expressed gratitude to Hon. Mawanda for his consistent support. Mwesigwa Hassan, who heads the Muslim community projects in the MP's office, also acknowledged Hon. Mawanda's efforts, stating that he has been a reliable supporter of the community.
The donation, which was distributed to nine mosques in the constituency, is a testament to Hon. Mawanda's commitment to promoting unity and harmony among his constituents, regardless of their faith or background.
As the Muslim community in Igara East prepares to celebrate Eid Al Fitr, they do so with renewed appreciation for leaders like Hon. Mawanda, who prioritize the well-being and unity of their constituents.
