Hon. Michael Mawanda Donates Technical Equipment to Empower Local Communities

BUSHENYI - UGANDA: Hon. Michael Mawanda, Member of Parliament for Igara East Bushenyi District has donated technical equipment to support local artisans and farmers in gesture of empowering and supporting the communities . The ceremony took place  today  of Tuesday , 1st April 2025 at Kitwe Rwentuha Bushenyi, officiated by Chairman LC5 Jaffari Bassajabalaba.


Chairman Bassajabalaba praised Hon. Mawanda for his generosity, encouraging the youth to work hard and focus on technical skills. "We are grateful for Hon. Mawanda's support. His donation will go a long way in promoting economic growth and self-reliance in our communities," he said.


Joshua Asingwire, Hon. Mawanda's political assistant, emphasized the importance of using the equipment responsibly. "Hon. Mawanda has provided these tools to support your work, not for sale or personal gain. Please use them wisely to improve your livelihoods."


Mr. Turyamuhambwa Bernard, LC2 Rutooma, thanked Hon. Mawanda for his love and support. "We appreciate your kindness and commitment to our community. We will not forget your generosity and will reward you during the elections."


Beneficiaries from various subcounties, including Rwentuha Town Council, Kyiezooba, Bumbaire, Ruhumuro, Kyabugimbi, and Ibare, received equipment for building, mechanics, carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, agriculture, and tailoring.


Mrs. Winne Munnene, an expert tailor, encouraged her fellow beneficiaries to love their jobs and work with knowledge. "These equipment will help us improve our skills and productivity. Let's make the most of this opportunity."


Gerald Kamugisha, a carpenter, thanked Hon. Mawanda for the donation. "We are grateful for your support. These machines will help us grow our businesses and create employment opportunities."


Hon. Mawanda's donation is a testament to his commitment to empowering his constituents and promoting economic growth in the region.
