BUSHENYI: UGANDA The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) has taken swift action to curb the spread of anthrax in Kyabugimbi and Ruhumuro Sub-counties by halting the transportation of animals in quarantine areas. This decisive measure comes after two people were confirmed dead from the disease.

Nabasa Brian, the in-charge of Kyabugimbi Health Center IV, revealed that 18 patients are currently admitted at the facility, exhibiting symptoms consistent with anthrax infection.

Dr. Naturinda Roberts, the District Veterinary Officer for Bushenyi, emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations and guidelines set by district authorities to prevent further spread of the disease.

These statements were made while appearing on Hunter Radio Studios, where the district officials urged residents to take necessary precautions.

Dr. Roberts stressed that no animal should be slaughtered without the concern of officials, highlighting the need for community cooperation in controlling the outbreak. The district authorities urge residents to follow guidelines and regulations to prevent further spread of the disease. By working together, residents can help contain the outbreak and prevent further cases.
