The decision to close the school was made jointly by the Acting District Education Officer and the District Police Commander after a meeting with the school’s stakeholders. All students were subsequently sent home and will remain on break until the end of the Easter holiday.

Speaking to our reporter in a phone interview, a student who chose to remain anonymous revealed that the strike began on Monday after learners penned a letter, which they placed in the dining hall urging school management to take disciplinary action against the Deputy Headteacher, Isaac Bagatuzayo, who is at the center of the harassment allegations.
