Businesswoman Murdered, Suspect Found Dead in Suspected Suicide

SHEEMA UGANDA: A gruesome murder has shaken Sheema District, with police investigating the killing of 27-year-old businesswoman Turyasiima Allen. According to reports, Allen was hacked to death with a panga at her shop in Kangole Cell, Rugazi Parish, Masheruka Sub-county, on August 23, 2025, around 12:30 am.


The prime suspect, Mushumbusha Osward, a 20-something mechanic, allegedly ended his life by hanging himself in a nearby farm land after committing the crime. Police found a blood-stained panga near the suspect's body, believed to be the weapon used in the murder.


The motive behind the murder is believed to be a tumultuous extramarital affair between the suspect and the victim, which Allen had abruptly ended after her husband discovered the relationship.


Sheema District Police have launched an investigation into the incident and have delivered both bodies to Kabwohe Health Centre IV for post-mortem examinations.


In a statement, the police spokesperson, Tayebwa Apollo, condemned the violence, citing a mindset of lawlessness, anger, and ego.


The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and investigations are ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the tragic events.
