The Electoral Commission (EC) has met with representatives of all eight cleared presidential candidates to plan campaign schedules and agree on where and when each candidate will hold events during the 2026 election period.

The session, chaired by EC Secretary Richard Kamugisha Baabo, included agents of the candidates, such as Robert Centenary from the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and Rovans Lwanyaga representing the National Unity Platform (NUP).

NRM and President Museveni is represented by Moses Byaruhanga.

Police officials also attended to advise on security arrangements during campaign activities.

According to sources, the discussions focused on agreeing on who will campaign where and when, a move aimed at preventing overlaps and potential conflicts between candidates and their supporters.

The meeting follows the EC’s confirmation of the eight presidential candidates on Wednesday, September 24, after the close of a two-day nomination exercise.
