Two Arrested Over Bank of Uganda Break-In, Laptops Stolen.

KAMPALA - UGANDA: Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the May 4, 2026, break-in at the Bank of Uganda headquarters, where several laptops were stolen.
The suspects, Kule Boaz Michael, 19, of Wabigalo, and Kabuye Ramadhan (alias Rhama), 19, of Nsambya Zone C, were arrested on May 7 following an intelligence-led operation. Two of the stolen laptops have been recovered.
The break-in occurred overnight on May 4 at the BoU Head Office on Plot 45, Kampala Road, with seven or eight laptops taken. An internal investigation is underway, with five police officers under probe for potential involvement in the security breach.
Police urge anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.
