Hon. Michael Mawanda Maranga Takes Oath as Igara East MP for 2026-2031 Term

KAMPALA UGANDA Hon. Michael Mawanda Maranga was sworn in today as the Area MP for Igara East County, Bushenyi District, marking the start of his fourth term in Uganda's Parliament. The ceremony officially kicked off his 5-year tenure, where he'll represent Igara East at the national level.
Speaking to Hunter Radio, Mawanda thanked voters for their support, pledging to focus on poverty reduction, education, and healthcare in the constituency. "This time will be for fighting poverty in families, continuity in education, and health sector," he said .
The MP is set to dive into legislative duties, addressing key issues affecting his community, including economic development, infrastructure growth, and social welfare programs. Mawanda's experience in Parliament is expected to play a crucial role in shaping policies that benefit Igara East.
With his re-election, residents of Igara East County are hopeful for continued progress in their region, particularly in areas like agriculture, youth empowerment, and access to clean water.
