RUBIRIZI DISTRICT, UGANDA - A horrific discovery was made in Mubanda C village, Rubirizi District, on March 23, 2025, when the mutilated body of an infant was found dumped in a garden.

The child's body was discovered by local resident Kayebwa, who alerted her neighbor, Barigye Julius. The police were subsequently notified, and a report of murder was filed.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the infant, estimated to be around 6-7 months old, was subjected to a brutal and ritualistic killing. The child's head, arms, and legs were severed, sparking fears of human sacrifice.

SSP Martial Tumusiime, the PRO of Bushenyi Police Station, confirmed that the police are treating this as a murder investigation and are working to identify the victim and apprehend the suspect.

The police have collected evidence from the crime scene and are reviewing witness statements. The body has been taken to Rugazi Health Center IV for a post-mortem examination.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with many calling for swift justice.

"We are outraged and saddened by this heinous crime," said a local resident. "We demand that the authorities do everything in their power to bring the perpetrator to justice."

The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
