Two Stolen Cattle Recovered in Nateete as Police Foil Theft Bid.

KAMPALA - UGANDA: Police in Nateete have recovered two suspected stolen cows following a swift and coordinated response to a tip-off. On April 29, 2026, at approximately 4:00 am, officers received intelligence about a motor vehicle transporting suspected stolen cattle. Acting on the information, police intercepted a silver Toyota X-Trail (UAS 521W) in Busega, opposite the main market.


The vehicle's occupants abandoned it and fled the scene upon interception. A search led to the recovery of the two live cows believed to have been stolen. The vehicle has been impounded at Nateete Police Station, and a case of possessing suspected stolen cattle is being investigated.


Efforts are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects, with police urging anyone with information to come forward. The recovered cattle are currently in police custody, pending further inquiries.


The swift response underscores police efforts to combat livestock theft in the area.
