The police in Mitooma District are investigating a suspected murder after the body of Runwa Osbert, a 50-year-old Munyankole peasant, was discovered along the road to his home in Bikungu Village.

According to Martial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, the police are working tirelessly to identify and apprehend the suspects.

Osbert had gone to Mutara town for leisure on March 23, 2025, but failed to return home. His body was found with injuries on the head, prompting an investigation. The police have visited the crime scene, recorded witness statements, and taken the body to Kitagata Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination ¹.

This incident adds to a string of murder cases in Mitooma District. The police are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as they work to retrieve the post-mortem report and bring the perpetrators to justice.
