MITOOMA - UGANDA. A tragic incident occurred in Mitooma District on March 24, 2025, where 40-year-old Turyakiira Arthur lost his life due to a brutal assault. The assault happened around 10:00 PM in Nsitsa Village, Nyabubare Parish, Kabira Sub County, Mitooma District.

Turyakiira was found lying unconscious and beaten by unknown persons, approximately 100 meters away from his home, while returning from his paternal uncle's residence . 

He was rushed to Dr. Muhumuza's Clinic and later transferred to Kitagata General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 3:30 PM the following day. The police have launched an investigation, registering a case file at Kabira Police Station under SD Ref 07/25/03/2025 and later Mitooma CRB 205/2025.

The police are working to retrieve the post-mortem report and identify and trace the suspects.
