SHEEMA: UGANDA: Residents of Masya and Nyabukuzi villages in Bugonji Town Council, Sheema South constituency, have pledged their support to Prof. Ephraim Kamuntu to contest for the MP seat.
Over 500 residents, including Mr. Bubezi Justus, Molly Nabasa, and Mwesigwa Obed, expressed their desire for Prof. Kamuntu to take up the mantle after four years without essential services.
The residents' plea comes amid concerns over the current MP's performance Prof. Elijah Mushemeza Dickens, the incumbent MP, is expected to lose the next election due to his perceived disconnect from the local community. His challenger, Prof. Kamuntu, is said to be traversing the constituency, engaging voters, and delivering development projects.
Mayor Tugume Control Wilson praised Prof. Kamuntu for his efforts in lobbying for water and electricity projects in the area. The residents' support for Prof. Kamuntu is seen as a bid for change and development in Sheema South.
In related news, other potential candidates have emerged, including media personality Johnson Musinguzi, who recently announced his bid for the Sheema South MP seat .
