KASESE - UGANDA : Heavy rainfall over the weekend has caused devastating flash flooding in Karusandara Sub-county, Kasese District, with River Mubuku overflowing its banks. According to Joseph Isingoma, the district planner, 65 houses have been destroyed, leaving many residents without shelter.
Karusandara Sub-county is one of the areas most affected by the flooding, with River Mubuku running through the middle of the sub-county. The river is known to be prone to flooding during the rainy season, causing significant damage to homes and infrastructure.
The incident highlights the need for authorities to intervene and provide support to the affected residents. The local government and disaster management teams are urged to take immediate action to rescue those in need and provide relief to the affected communities.
This is not the first time River Mubuku has caused flooding in the area. The river's tendency to overflow its banks during heavy rainfall has led to significant damage and displacement in the past.
The local authorities are expected to take measures to mitigate the effects of future flooding,
