IBANDA - UGANDA: The Grade One Magistrate Court in Ibanda has remanded eight suspects to Nyabuhukye Government Prison over allegations of murdering a police officer. Here's a breakdown of the case .

Suspects:

    - Gaston Muhwezi, 27

    - Sam Mwesigye, 53

    - Alfred Arinaitwe, 43

    - Christine Atuhaire, 37

    - Niwatuha Allen, 23

    - Alex Ahimbisibwe, 18

    - Christine Komugisha, 19

    - Bayren Katungye, 29

The suspects allegedly killed Police Officer Suleiman Kimongeshi on April 6, 2025, during a burial ceremony in Kyembongo Cell, Bisheshe Division, Ibanda Municipality.

The suspects denied the charges when they appeared before the Grade One Magistrate Court presided over by Her Worship Edith Musaabe.

The magistrate remanded them to Nyabuhukye Government Prison until April 29, 2025, when they will reappear in court for a hearing.
