MP Mawanda Praised for Constructing Mosque in Kantunda

Bushenyi Uganda . Today, the Kantunda Mosque in Bumbaire, Bushenyi, was officially opened, with Muslim leaders and community members praising Hon. Mawanda Maranga, the area MP and Igara East MP, for his initiative.
Sheikh Abubakar Kayimba, who heads Muslims in Greater Bushenyi, urged followers to separate politics from religion, commending Hon. Mawanda for his contribution to the Muslim community. "We appreciate Hon. Mawanda's efforts in building this mosque, which will serve as a place of worship for generations to come," he said.
Hajji Byekwaso, a veteran Muslim leader who pioneered Islam in Bushenyi, also hailed Hon. Mawanda, noting that his good deeds are visible to the people. "No one will defeat Hon. Mawanda because he delivers on his promises," he said, expressing gratitude for the MP's support.
Kakama David, the LC5 councilor representing Bumbaire Subcounty, thanked Hon. Mawanda for keeping his promise to construct the mosque. "We appreciate Hon. Mawanda's commitment to community development," he said.
Joshua Asingwire, Hon. Mawanda's political assistant, revealed that the MP built the mosque after witnessing Muslims trekking long distances to Ibare Subcounty for prayers. "Hon. Mawanda decided to construct this mosque to provide a convenient place of worship for the Muslim community," he explained.
The Kantunda Mosque is a testament to Hon. Mawanda's dedication to serving his constituents, regardless of their religious affiliations. The event was attended by prominent Muslim leaders, local government officials, and community members, all of whom expressed gratitude for Hon. Mawanda's initiative.
