Police Warns Candidates Against Obscuring Vehicle Number Plates
By Felix Biryomumaisho
Bushenyi Uganda. The Regional Police Commander for the Greater Bushenyi policing region, Achilia Godfrey, has issued a stern warning to aspiring candidates and their supporters against covering vehicle number plates with campaign posters. Speaking to reporters, Commander Achilia noted that this practice is not only illegal but also a violation of national traffic regulations.
According to Commander Achilia, concealing number plates compromises road safety and hinders law enforcement efforts. He urged candidates and their supporters to adhere to the law and avoid obstructing vehicle registration numbers.
The warning comes amid the ongoing electoral campaigns in the region, where candidates have been using campaign posters to promote their agendas. While campaign posters are a common sight during elections, obscuring vehicle number plates is a serious offense that can attract penalties.
Police are urging candidates and their supporters to find alternative ways to promote their campaigns without violating the law. The police commander's warning aims to ensure that the electoral process is conducted in a peaceful and law-abiding manner.
