Rubirizi, Uganda - A devastating fire broke out at All Saints Preparatory Primary School in Nyakashaaru ward, Rubirizi Town Council, on August 28, 2025, at around 6:00 am. The fire destroyed a number of properties, including beds and pupils' suitcases, in one of the dormitories, which was partially destroyed.

According to eyewitnesses, locals attempted to put out the fire but were unsuccessful. Fortunately, the Greater Bushenyi Police regional fire prevention and rescue department responded quickly and managed to extinguish the flames, preventing further destruction.

No lives were lost or injuries reported in the incident. The police have launched an investigation into the cause of the fire and will keep the public informed of their progress.

In a statement, ASP Tayebwa Apollo, the Regional Police Spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi, urged all institutions of learning and the general public to adhere to fire safety precautions.

The police are still investigating the exact cause of the fire and are working to determine the extent of the damage. The school administration and local authorities are cooperating with the investigation.

The police have emphasized the importance of fire safety and urged everyone to take necessary precautions to prevent such incidents in the future.
