The Bishop of Mukono Diocese Rt. Rev. Enos Kitto Kagodo on Friday confirmed 50  students from Bishop’s Senior School, Mukono into the Anglican faith during a pastoral visit.

The colourful service, held at the school in Lutikko Archdeaconry, came ahead of the candidates’ final national examinations scheduled for later this year.

In his sermon, Bishop Kagodo reminded the students of their value before God and urged them to remain steadfast in their faith and studies.

“Each of you is precious in the eyes of the Lord. Treasure yourselves, trust in God, and walk in His guidance, especially as you prepare for your final exams,” he said.

Bishop Kagodo also praised the school administration, Board of Governors, and Headteacher Kyakulaga Robert for their strong partnership with the Diocese.

He particularly commended their support towards the construction of the brand new 5,000 seater St. Phillip’s and Andrew’s Cathedral at the diocesan headquarters and the development of modern infrastructure at the school.

“I am impressed by the smart classroom project, the provision of a power generator, and a water purifier. These efforts show your commitment to excellence and digital learning,” he said.

“Let us keep our children in school until graduation. Their success is our success, and their future will be brighter when anchored in both knowledge and faith,” he added, thanking the school for the warm reception and encouraged parents to support their children’s education to the end.

The prelate further lauded the school for hosting the Masaza Cup as a way of giving back to the community while honouring God.

The School Chaplain, Rev. Noah Gambrill Nsubuga, reported on the institution’s faith-based milestones, which include regular prayer fellowships, fundraising to support struggling students, and outreach programs such as donating essential items to prisoners at Bugungu Prison.

The Headteacher Kyakulaga Robert highlighted several achievements, including the beautification of the school compound, renovations, and facility upgrades.

However, he also pointed out challenges facing the school, among them limited classroom space, inadequate ICT resources, insecurity in staff quarters, and insufficient accommodation for teachers.

The confirmation service not only strengthened the students’ spiritual journey but also reaffirmed the school’s dedication to academic and moral excellence in Mukono Diocese.
