MUSEVENI URGES BUSHENYI TO EMBRACE FARMING TO DRIVE PROSPERITY

Bushenyi, Uganda – President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called on Bushenyi residents to embrace farming as a pathway to sustainability and poverty reduction, emphasizing the potential of the four-hectare model. Speaking at a rally at Kizinda Playgrounds on Wednesday, December 2 , 2025, during his Ankole subregion campaign tour, Museveni stressed that agriculture is key to protecting the nation’s progress.
At the event, Museveni also endorsed NRM flag bearers, handing party flags to candidates including Hon. Mawanda Maranga Michael (Igara East MP and Director of Mobilisation, Patriotic League of Uganda), Kyampene Cohen (Igara West), and Hon. Annet Mugisha Katusiime (Woman MP, Bushenyi District), ahead of the 2026 general elections.
Following the rally, President Museveni proceeded to Sheema, wrapping up today’s engagements. Tomorrow, he’ll continue his tour in Mitooma and Rubirizi districts.
