RUBIRIZI - UGANDA  A serious traffic accident involving a Global Bus Company vehicle has left four female passengers injured in Rubirizi District. The incident occurred on February 11, 2026, at around 6:10 am at Nyakashaaru along the Ishaka-Kasese road.

The bus, registration number UBH 881B, was being driven by a driver who swerved to avoid hitting a pedestrian, according to preliminary findings. The injured passengers include Twinomugisha Anner, 28; Nalubega Shadita, 21; Nakilarila Harriet; and a juvenile named Rahim.

The police have impounded the bus and released the driver on police bond as investigations continue. The injured women are receiving medical attention at Rugazi Health Centre IV in Rubirizi District.

SP Tayebwa Apollo, Regional Police Public Relations Officer, has appealed to road users to abide by road safety precautions. The police are urging all parties to remain calm as investigations are ongoing .
