Sheema Cup Celebrates Sporting Achievements with awards best winners of tournament

Kabwohe - Sheema District DPC SP Kasule consilanta, the chief guest, emphasized the role of sports in community development and health awareness, urging footballers to utilize their talents and undergo HIV testing.
The Sheema Cup, launched in 2024 to promote local football and youth empowerment, concluded its third edition with a grand luncheon at Visita Suites Hotel Kabwohe on April 25, 2026.
The tournament, which ended on Easter Monday at Kabwohe Main Stadium, saw Bishop Stuart University emerge victorious, taking home 2 million Shillings, while Sheema Police FC was second runners-up with 1 million Shillings.
Sports Minister Mwebesa Victor from Bishop stuart university commended organizer Ronald Alonso for fostering local talent, highlighting the tournament's impact on community engagement and youth development.
Organizer Ronald Alonso revealed the tournament attracted 12 teams and promised the next Sheema Cup will surpass previous editions, offering more opportunities for local footballers to showcase their skills. Certificates and awards were presented to outstanding players and team managers, recognizing their exceptional performances.
The event served as a platform for recognition, networking, and community sensitization through sport, aligning with the Sheema Cup's mission to drive social change and promote health awareness.
