By Hunter FM Radio Reporter
Kampala Uganda. The Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among has denied nursing Presidential ambitions for the top office in Uganda, describing such remarks as rubbish and nonsensical, wondering how some people can think she is vouching for Presidency yet she doesn’t even know how to cock a gun.
She made the remarks during the handover of the donation UGX100Million through purchase of kits in support of the anticipated MK Run slated for 26th April 2026, in celebration of Muhoozi Kainerugaba’s 52nd, where she announced that she will retire from elective politics in 2031, and focus her energies on supporting the person President Museveni will endorse as his successor.
The Speaker went on to say that she doesn’t have any ounce of patience for Presidency and confessed to having no skills in handling guns, saying that being a Member of Parliament is exhausting enough, and thus can’t imagine the energy she would require to lead Uganda.
The Speaker also used the platform to reveal how she came to clinch the third top office in Uganda, saying the position was forced on her following the death of former Speaker, Jacob Oulanyah and even when she was urged to take up the position, she felt guilty that doing so would be betrayal for Oulanyah.
The Speaker also revealed her undying loyalty to President Museveni saying he made her what he is and he will support his son Muhoozi for Presidency, and bragged how she was the first one to use words of Father, Son and Holy Spirit in context of Uganda’s presidency.
Michael Mawanda, Director of Mobilisation Patriotic League of Uganda, explained that the anticipated MK Run are in celebration of the birthday of Muhoozi Kainerugaba and they are an avenue for him solicit support from his supporters to be able to support the vulnerable people in this country.
David Kabanda, Secretary General of the Patriotic League of Uganda revealed that Speaker Among is the first public figure to buy the MK Run further adding that the run was organized to celebrate Muhoozi’s 52nd birthday and as opposed to the old tradition where they would throw parties, this time around, the celebrations will involve giving back to the vulnerable communities in Uganda.
PLU’s Secretary General also applauded Speaker Among for her loud love of Muhoozi citing her decision to have a full block at Bukedea Comprehensive Senior Secondary School, named after Muhoozi .
Kabanda also reaffirmed Patriotic League Uganda’s endorsement for Speaker Among for speakership remarking that they were asked as PLU by Muhoozi to solicit for support for Speaker Among.
The Speaker of Parliament admitted that she isn’t shy about her love for Muhoozi Kainerugaba and went on to announce her decision to donate UGX100M to support the MK Run saying the purpose of the run is in tandem with her values to care for the vulnerable people in communities.
