Uganda Police Investigate Suspected Murder in Bushenyi

BUSHENYI UGANDA The Uganda Police Force in Greater Bushenyi Region is investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspected murder that occurred in Ishaka Division, Bushenyi District.
The victim, Asiimwe Abias, a 57-year-old businessman and resident of Kashenyi Ward, was last seen at Kashenyi Trading Centre on April 18, 2026, before proceeding to a nearby lodge. His relatives reported him missing the following day, prompting police to launch a search.
A burnt and dismembered body, believed to be Asiimwe's, was recovered from the lodge premises. Seven suspects, including the prime suspect, have been arrested to assist with investigations.
SP Tayebwa Apollo, Regional Police Public Relations Officer, Greater Bushenyi Region, said, "The scene of crime was examined, and relevant exhibits were recovered. The body has been taken to Kitagata Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem examination."
The police have condemned the act of violence and assured the public that those involved will be brought to justice.
