Rubirizi district senior official suspended over corruption charges.

By Hunter FM radio Reporter.

RUBIRIZI - UGANDA: Julius Mwebaze, the senior official in Rubirizi District, has been suspended for six months over alleged negligence of duty and corruption-related offenses. The suspension, effective immediately, follows charges filed under Criminal Case No. CO-0150/26 for failure to perform official duties as required by the Penal Code Act.

According to Chief Administrative Officer Paul Samuel Mbiiwa, the suspension allows investigations and court proceedings to continue without interference. Mwebaze is barred from accessing his offices without authorization, leaving the country without permission, and must hand over office. He'll receive half salary during the suspension.

District Communications Officer Amon Muhereza says the move is administrative and doesn't imply guilt, noting the matter is still before court.
