NWOYA - UGANDA: Nwoya District Chief Administrative Officer, Jenaphar Nantume Egunyu, has been remanded to Luzira Prison over alleged abuse of office. 

She's accused of authorizing an illegal animal market in Lungulu Sub-county between 2023 and 2024, causing losses to the district.

Nantume was remanded alongside Fred Kalisa, who allegedly managed the market and stole Shs20.6 million. Both deny the charges and will remain in custody until May 4, 2026, while another suspect is still at large .
