Bushenyi Police Investigate Aggravated Robbery at Kashenyi SACCO, Rifle Stolen

BUSHENYI - UGANDA: Bushenyi District Police are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred on 10th June 2026 at about 3:30 a.m. at Kashenyi SACCO, Kashenyi II Cell, Kashenyi Ward, Ishaka Division, Bushenyi Municipality.
According to SP Tayebwa Apollo, Regional Public Relations Officer for Greater Bushenyi, four unidentified assailants armed with pangas and sticks attacked a security guard while he was on duty guarding the premises.
The victim, Karamuzi Aron, 28, a guard attached to Global Link Security Services, sustained head and knee injuries during the attack. The assailants robbed him of a pump-action rifle loaded with three rounds of ammunition before fleeing the scene. Karamuzi was rushed to KIU Teaching Hospital where he is undergoing treatment.
Police responded swiftly and secured the scene following standard procedure. Investigations are now focused on recovering the stolen firearm, identifying and arresting the suspects, and establishing the motive behind the attack.
SP Tayebwa appealed to the public to remain calm and urged anyone with information to report to the nearest police station to aid the ongoing investigation. Further updates will be provided as inquiries progress.
