Police finally clears King Saha concert to proceed with safety restrictions

The Uganda Police Force has finally authorised singer Mansur Ssemanda, alias King Saha, to hold his much-anticipated concert today, January 24, 2025, at the Lugogo Cricket Oval, after initially halting it due to safety concerns.
In a statement issued by the police, the concert, organised by Denis Benon Galabuzi of Umoja Management Limited, was suspended on January 23, 2025, to address safety issues at the venue.
However, after a meeting between a joint security team, event organizers, and venue managers, the event was cleared to proceed under strict guidelines.
“Following this meeting, it has been decided that the event will take place as scheduled at the cricket oval,” the statement read.
The police emphasised that while the concert is permitted, the pavilion will remain strictly off-limits to attendees due to structural risks.
“The use of the pavilion will be strictly prohibited due to its structural condition, which poses a risk to revelers,” the statement added.
Organizers have been directed to ensure all safety measures are adhered to during the event, which is expected to draw large crowds.
King Saha’s fans are now set to enjoy the highly anticipated performance, with security measures firmly in place to guarantee their safet
