The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has summoned two primary schools in Mitooma District to appear before its security tribunal over allegations of examination malpractice.
The affected schools—Rweibare Primary School in Mitooma Town Council and Katerera Primary School in Kanyabwanga Sub-county—had their Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) results withheld due to suspected irregularities.

The revelation was made by the Mitooma District Inspector of Schools, Jane Tushabe, during the release of the district's PLE results at Mitooma Central Primary School. She emphasized that the implicated schools would undergo the necessary legal procedures, and if found guilty, those responsible would face appropriate punishment.

Mitooma District Vice Chairperson, Penelope Arinanye, expressed disappointment over the allegations, noting that despite the district's efforts to improve academic performance, some school administrators still engage in malpractice. She warned that such actions put students at risk of losing an academic year and urged school heads to act with integrity.
While handing over the results, Mitooma Resident District Commissioner (RDC), Kibuka Amooti Francis, also condemned the malpractice, stating that even suspicion alone tarnishes the district’s reputation. He called on all school heads to learn from this incident and uphold ethical standards in education.

The UNEB security tribunal will determine the fate of the schools, and if found guilty, appropriate disciplinary measures will be taken against those involved.
