KITAGWENDA - UGANDA: A 20-year-old Senior Four student at Kicwamba Secondary School in Kitagwenda District is fighting for her life after developing severe health complications following a tetanus injection.

Nabale Jackline received the injection at Ntara Health Centre IV on April 15, 2026, and shortly after, began experiencing intense body pain, difficulty walking, and eating.

The district health educator, Herbert Twongyeirwe, assured that vaccines administered through official health programs are generally safe, but investigations into the incident are ongoing.

The incident has raised concerns about vaccine safety and administration procedures in the district.
