Rukungiri Police Investigate Murder and Suspected Child Suicide!

RUKUNGIRI - UGANDA: Police in Rukungiri District are investigating two separate incidents involving the death of an unidentified man and a suspected suicide of a 10-year-old boy in Kebisoni area.
According to Kigezi Region Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, the first incident involved the discovery of the body of an unidentified male adult in eucalyptus trees at Bishop Ruhindi Cell, Central Ward, Kebisoni Town Council. The body was discovered on Saturday morning by Kamagara Medard, a local teacher, while grazing goats. Police visited and documented the scene before transferring the body to Buyanja Health Centre III mortuary for postmortem examination and identification.
In a separate incident, police are also investigating a suspected suicide involving 10-year-old Gumisiriza Benedicto, a pupil at Mutariga Primary School in Kebisoni Sub-county. Police say the child was later found hanging on a coffee plant using banana fiber after reportedly disappearing from home. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing as police appeal for public cooperation.
